FAQ & Info

How This Works

What sets us apart in our counseling practice is that we all work very hard to develop trusting relationships with you. Therapy can be stressful at times, but there is no reason for stress to be added beyond what you are already experiencing. What we hope will happen is that you will develop a quickly trusting relationship with your therapist so you can begin working toward your goal without the distraction of deciding whether you can trust them. We really believe that we are good at taking off the stress of therapy.

Your First Appointment

The first appointment you will attend will be considered an intake. What is most likely to happen is a low-pressure introductory process of going over your paperwork and identifying some treatment goals. We will talk more generally with you and become more detailed over the session as we identify patterns. We will work together with you to help figure out the best way to help you achieve your goals.

Trust & Safety

We ask that you show up on time based on what you have agreed to with your therapist. When you are in session, the therapist will work with you to understand what the procedures are for different scenarios. Each therapist has their own way of keeping you safe. If there is ever an issue with safety or the procedures feel free to reach out to support to let them know.

Payment

Payment is expected at the time of service like most other healthcare practices. We offer our electronic portal as a convenient option. If you are planning to use insurance, please let us know ahead of time to ensure benefits are known ahead of time. If your payment information is unknown, you will be charged for the cost of the appointment out-of-pocket. Contact us if you require alternative options or arrangements. The payment agreement set forth at the beginning of your treatment will be maintained unless a change is communicated. It is our experience that this helps the overall trust in the relationship.
